Does Your Pet Drive You Up The Wall?
Are you one of those pet owners who is encountering countless problems with your pet's annoying habits? Behavior problems can get serious if they are not dealt with since young. Just like children, pets too know how to get what they want
.and since they can't talk, they will do the things that most annoy you just to get your attention!
No matter how many times you tried to coax him to do what you wanted, he is disobedient, chews up everything in sight and true enough, your patience is running out and you just want to give up...
Don't let him drive you up the wall, instead get the help of a professional dog trainer or better still, get in touch with MKA (Malaysian Kennel Association). It is good to start the training when puppy is young, about 8 weeks of age and one person in the family should always be present during these training sessions.
Why do dogs chew up and destroy shoes, turn the garden upside down by digging holes on the lawn, bite up the car number plate, and even chew on the car tyres to name a few?
Most dogs get bored easily especially if they are left alone most of the day, they need attention and they will do everything they possibly can to get some attention from their owners. Many of us have watched Animal Planet and other documentaries on how trainers manage to turn around even very badly behaved dogs in to affectionate and well behaved ones. After all, aren't they part of the family? You can buy him all kinds of toys and give him food and treats but all these are still not enough if no one interacts with them. If you do not spend enough time with him, also if he or she is always tied to a leash or left in a kennel then he is bound to get bored.
Apart, from training sessions, we do have some unique products to assist you train your pets to keep them well-behaved at all times. Some of them are known to break bad habits and proven to work leaving some owners very pleased with the transformation they see in their pets. Toilet trainers for example, will encourage puppies and kittens to do their pooh-pooh' at the same spot. You can even place a few drops of the liquid onto a newspaper and leave it at the spot where you want him to do his business! It only takes lots of patience and one to two weeks to achieve a pet that's toilet trained with this fantastic product!
Another common problem faced by many pet owners is the bad habit of chewing, and the usual destruction of things in and outside the home. Your shoes are half chewed, the pots and plants are upside down and the garden looks like it had been hit by a tornado!
To stop pets from chewing you can now use a wonderful product simply called stop chew spray. You just spray it onto the items he usually goes for, and in no time the taste will put him off for good and the chewing and biting will stop. These bad habits will eventually stop, so be ready to spend time with him before he starts getting bored. Again, dogs and cats need attention and the more time you spend with them, the better behaved they will be. Take for instance, the case of a Basset Hound chewing everything in sight and after the owner tried this product her dog is changed and it only took her a month and a half or so to kick the habit. She is one very proud owner now.
To keep cats and dogs from going to certain areas in the home, you could use repellent sprays which are safe and easy to use. Initially you should spray it everyday so that the dog or cat will get used to it and eventually will stop going to those areas.
For those with gardens, the stop garden crystals, another form of repellent will help in keeping the pet from going near those potted plants and beautiful landscape you put so much effort on. These type of repellents are more suitable for the outside while the sprays can be used for the interior of the house, the porch, and from those areas you wish to keep your pet away.
For cats that scratch the furniture and make a nuisance of themselves we now have a unique product to entice them to their play areas. For example, you can take some cat nip herbs, tie them into sachets and place them where you want them to play. You can even sprinkle some at a scratch post and this will attract them to those areas instead of your sofa. While you are wondering what is the best litter to use, it is good to know that various cat litters help to keep the litter tray clean and hygienic.
Lately, we have designed cat litters made of silica gel that is highly absorbent and lasts for a long time. This silica gel cat litter is from the premium range and they are available in the market. It changes colour when soiled and absorbs every tiny drop of moisture from urine and even cat's stools, leaving the tray with minimum odour. This type of cat litter is ideal for apartment dwellers with one or two cats. For those owners with more cats it is best to use traditional cat litters that are hygienic, clumps, scented and also cost less.
We wish you all the best in training your pet, and don't forget to praise him always..even when your kitty or pup is not behaving well or been a bad boy. We all have our unpleasant moments. Praise and rewards are big motivators of people and work just as well for pets. After all, they are faithful, adorable and so very irresistible, what will we do without them?
The lonely dog
Round and round I go,
trying to catch my tail
I'm bored without my master
Just watching the garden snail
I won't do anything,
just lay her,keep whining
woof!
