Important to Build a Bond With Your Pet
Healthy relationships that go a long way
The canines and felines of the world are happiest when their owners return from work and spend a few hours with them. Tails go wagging in dogs while cats get all affectionate and start nuzzling at your ankles. The purring sounds made by cats will make any owner glad he or she's home. Some owners will proudly say their pets even wait for them patiently at the door for their safe return.
Toys are good for pets
The amount of joys you can derive from pets is numerous. How can we repay them? Toys make a big difference for most cats. Depending on their age, woolly balls and cat toys are very exciting to curious felines and they could spend endless hours playing with them. Some kittens can be quite gregarious and enjoy f'etching' just like dogs, only difference is they don't bring it to you.
Owning dogs can be very therapeutic for many since dogs just love jumping on you and showering you with kisses as a sign of welcome. Some can even go overboard with their affections and knock you off-balance.
Playtime
Kittens have their fair share of fun. I know of a kitten that actually sits in the laundry basket knowing full well that her mistress is going downstairs to dry the clothes. The kitten is so clever it will actually jump into the basket that is filled with damp clothes and wait patiently. As soon as the mistress puts the basket down, it will jump out and start all her childish pranks such as catching the owner's ankle when they move, hopping on the grass and so on.
A pet owner indeed has the finer bits to any story and this may be one reason why most owners are filled with so much joy from all their rendezvous with their adorable pets and even regard them as their darling daughter' or son'!
Anyway if you'd like kitty to play in a certain area such as the scratch post, you can use the herbal form of cat-nip' to attract them. It is available under the Aristopet' brand name. It can be placed inside a sachet or small cloth to attract cats to that area. It contains pure natural catnip herb and cats find it irresistable and they will start playing near those areas.
Dogs wait anxiously to play fetch', some even love to play their kind of football and any game that involves the master is considered an added bones' (bonus).
All pets can be trained and molded to become loyal and perfect companions for man. We must exercise lots of patience and realize that when dogs are placed in kennels first of all they are bored.
Toilet training habits
Well, how often do we hear of the problems that untrained pets cause to their owners. Some even give up and call their pet all kinds of names other than their real names!
Some common pet owner grouses high on the list are:
1. My puppy is impossible to train, I place the newspaper at the correct place and he'll just chew up the paper and thinks it is time to play.
2. My cat is always doing it in all corners of the house, I don't know what to do.
3. Help! My dog does a very disgusting thing. He eats up his own stools. Tell me why is he doing this?
Why do some dogs eat their own stools?
Although frequently encountered and disgusting to the pet owner, the actual causes of coprophagy (eating their own stools) are not well established. It is usually due to a behaviour problem, boredom or bad habits.
An insufficiency of pancreatic enzymes occasionally may be involved. Dogs may eat their own or another animal's feces which contains unabsorbed nutrients. The objectives in combating coprophagy are:
1. Prompt removal of stools from the environment to curtail opportunity.
2. Activity for the dog.
3. Provision of a highly-digestible, balanced diet adequate in all nutrients. (Remember, that the stools must be disposed as fast as possible)
The management of coprophagy should include the following:
Spend more time with the dog and provide more opportunity for exercise.
Sprinkling commercial meat tenderiser, such as Adolf's on the dog's food in the same manner as salting one's food may decrease stool palatability.
Unseasoned meat tenderisers should not be used for dogs with known gastrointestinal disorders, as ingredients used in the seasoned type may irritate the dog's gastrointestinal tract. If pancreatic exocrine insufficiency is present, management by a veterinarian will be necessary.
So what can we do about toilet training habits?
We have a fantastic training aid called Aristopet's - housebreaking aid to entice puppies and kittens to certain areas where they'll release their bowel without actually making a nuisance of themselves. This will be an amazing tool for pets if pet owners want a well-mannered and toilet-trained pet in a few weeks. The odour in the product works in a unique way and most pets will get accustomed to the training. It is important to be patient with your pet and allow him plenty of time to sniff around and do repeat the procedure the next day and after until you have a pet you'll be proud of. (Hopefully in several weeks' time).
We wish you all the best and have fun training your pet, also share your pets' amusing stories with us.
